Eligibility Requirements:

 NO Previous law enforcement experience necessary

 Applicant must be at least 21 years of age

 Applicant must possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license

 Applicant must be of good character and free of criminal record

 Applicant must be a high school graduate or have acquired a high school equivalency certificate (GED)

 If a veteran, applicant must have been honorably discharged

 Applicant must pass City/Parish Civil Service Exam for Deputy Constable

 Applicant must pass the physical assessment before being hired

 

Pay and Benefits:

 Starting pay is $13.77 per hour

 State supplemental pay ($425.00 per month after one year from date of graduation of P.O.S.T. Academy)
